The 13th Research Institute of CETC, invested two microelectronics institutes-Sichuan Solid State Research Institute and Nanjing Electronic Devices Institute. As the comprehensive research institute of semiconductor, it is the oldest and the largest scale in China with the strong technical force supporting and professional structure.

It involves in microelectronics, optoelectronics and microelectronic mechanical system ( MEMS ) and other three areas, which is the master and doctoral degree granting units. The 13th Research Institute is engaged in MEMS, Quantum devices and Nano electronics, Wide bandgap semiconductor materials, the device and organic semiconductor and Molecular electronics field.
